Volume products

Girls with super straight hair that would kill for a little bit of volume just like me, will probably also love these two products: Syoss Curl-Mousse & Andrélon Surprising Volume Duo Mist. I just love the Dutch brand Andrélon for their hair products. You spray it on towel dry hair, on the roots. After that, you blow dry your hair upside down. It even works if you keep your hair straight, there's just more of a "bump". It smells great and doesn't make my hair greasy like most products of this kind. The Syoss mousse I use for curls. I apply it from the middle of a pluck of hair, all the way down the ends. Then I curl it with a curling tong. Curls last a lot longer, are shinier and hair is not frizzy at all. On the picture above you see second day results - after sleeping a night on loose hair (if you sleep with a knot there will be more volume either way). A bouncy and solft curled coupe just the way I like it.

For better, prettier hair...

Don't we all want shiny, waving locks with the right amount of volume? Unfortunately it takes more than a good conditioner or a salon visit to see results. Let's sum up every way to prettify your coupé - from simple ways to hardcore routines.

What do eat:
We want to go for protein-rich food as hair is 97% protein!

- Salmon: it's rich in protein and vitamin D which makes your hair very strong. It also contains omega-3 fatty acids, which your body doesn't make but they are essential to grow hair!

-Walnuts: rich in biotin and vitamin E. Prevents hair loss and the copper mineral keeps your hair color vivid and healthy.

- Oysters: rich in zinc - it prevents both hair loss and a dry flaky scalp. Super rich in protein!

- Sweet potaties: source of beta carotene (your body turns it into vitamin A which is essential for a healthy scalp with a good oil-balance).

- Eggs: protein (!), but also key minerals as selenium, zinc, sulfur and iron. These bring oxygen to the hair follicles and boost your hair strength.

- Spinarch: keeps your scalp oils circulating due the iron, beta carotene, folate and vitamin C.

 - Lentils: bursting with protein, zinc, iron, biotin.

- Greek yoghurt: low-fat and protein-rich! Also contains bitamin B-5 (an ingrediënt often seen on hair care products) and vitamin D.

- Blueberries: the best vitamin C source, essential for scalp circulation, too little vitamin C leats to hair breakage.

- Poultry: protein, zinc, iron, vitamin B - for strong and plentiful hair!

What products:
If you want to see serious enchancement when it comes to your hair go get any Keratase product that suits your hair type best! It works magic, promise.

Also use a conditioner, if it makes your hair too greasy you can just apply it to the ends of your hair (not your scalp).

I personally always use the Gliss Kur total repair wonder serum-spray with liquid keratin. (a white bottle, I spray it on the ends of my hair when it's towel dry)

If you use anything with heat (straightner, curl tong, blow dryer,...) use a HEAT PROTECTOR! (The Andrélon/Keratase ones are very good, it's not so important which one you pick as long as you use a heat protector).

If your hair is broken, damaged or has split ends cut it and use a hair mask. I wrap moist hair in a plastic bag with a hair mask/conditioner and walk around with it for about a half hour before shower. Then I was it off and use shampoo. You won't believe the softness....

You could aso do the same with pure coconut oil! Incredible results, but make sure you wash it off well. You can find it at most bio shops.

Don't wash your hair every day! I wash mine every two days. You can perfectly shower without making your hair wet.

Brown to ash blonde @ home

www.onheels247.com

I know going blonde for dark haired girls is always a MAJOR issue - green hair, orange hair, yellow hair,... we've all seen this happen. From my experience hair dressers don't always do their job, or at least not how you expect it. In my case this is because of the fact that I live in a very small town and the better hair dressers are located MILES away. Anyways, the last months I wanted to be dark ash blonde, my natural hair color is dark/middle brown. I have light lashes and brows and I felt like this color would suit me better. I managed to get my hair like in the picture above with following products:

L'Oréal super blonde decoloring cream (which looks like this)
L'Oréal récital Préférence 8.1 Copenhague (which looks like this)
Garnier Ultra Doux nourishing hair mask with papaya & vanille (which looks like this)
Any silver shampoo you find in your drugstore (the more purple, the better! I use Kruidvat as Garnier has a very strong smell)
All these products together are under 30€

First of all you have to decolor your hair. This is not the healthiest treatment! You can only decolor your hair once in six months as this could be very destroying. You just follow the instructions, it's pretty easy. After applying this  onto my hair I waited for 25 minutes before washing it off. It was much lighter and - as expected - a little bit yellowish/orangish as my brown hair had a lot of red pigment. Anyways, be prepared for this and don't panic, we're going to get rid of this color! You will see that your hair is immediatly a lot of dryer than usual - after washing it off and using the hair conditioner from the same box I but in the nourising hair mask with papaya & vanille in my wet hair for about 10 minutes. This will restore most damage.

Now it's time for the ash blonde color. (Every hair varnish with .1 on the end is an ash tone) . I waited two days before coloring it as I wanted to give my hair the time to "calm". I hear a lot that you shouldn't color your hair when it's freshly washed but that doesn't really matter, it all has to do with the fact that back in the days hair varnish used to be a lot more agressive and having "greasy hair" was some sort of protection for your head skin. This is also very simple:  you just follow the instructions. I did leave it in for longer than the recommended half hour, I left it in for about 45 minutes. After washing it off I used the high-shine conditioner from the box (which you will have to use weekly for the next few weeks) and again the nourishing hair mask with papaya and vanille.

After treatment: I use the Garnier nourishing mask almost every time I shower as it leaves my hair incredibly soft. It also feels very strong and detangled: after blow drying I barely have to comb it. Silver shampoo removes the yellow glow from your hair so I use it about twice a week to keep the nice ash shade. This will not help if your hair id redish/orange as the purple only helps to remove yellow. For redish/orange tones you will have to use a blue product. I also leave the shampoo in for about 20 minutes, if you wash if off right away it won't help!:)  After this entire procedure my hair is still VERY healthy and not damaged at all!

I am not a hair dresser or beautician and I never studied anything like that, I just share my personal beauty and hair experiences as I color and cut my hair myself and what works for me might also work for other girls!
