Make a real #COSMOPOLITAN

The girliest of them all- wellicht opgekomen in de dertiger jaren en herontdekt in de jaren '70 en '90 (waaronder door de very darling Carrie Bradshaw, en dat wel 6 seizoenen lang) - het gaat natuurlijk om de Cosmopolitan. Tot mijn spijt niet terug te vinden op elke drankkaart, maar gelukkig wel in een handomdraai zelf klaar te maken. Je hebt nodig:

2 delen* vodka (of Limskaya, ook zeer lekker!)
1/2 delen* Cointreau (of goede Triple Sec)

1/2 delen* versgeperst limoensap (ik doe meestal net iets meer)

1 deel* veenbessensap (meestal enkel voor de kleur, maar ik vind het heel lekker) 

2 tl rietsuiker/1 deel* suikerwater (vreemd genoeg staat dit niet in de meeste recepten, ik vind het echter onmisbaar)

** Ik gebruik 1 shotglaasje om een deel aan te duiden 

The girliest of them all - probably invented in the thirties and rediscovered in the seventies and nineties (by the very darling Carrie Bradshaw - for 6 whole seasons!). Of course I'm talking about the Cosmopolitan. Sad enough hard to find on the contemporary menu, but the good news is that you don't need a bartender certificate to fix one youself (in 10 minutes!):

2 parts* of vodka (or Limskaya, also great!)

1/2 parts* of Cointreau (or a good Triple Sec)
1/2 parts* of squeezed lemon juice (mostly I put in a little more)
1 part* of cranberryjuice (only for the colour, but I love the taste as well)
2 tsp of sugar/ 1 part* of sugarwater (odd enough I find a lot of recipes without sugar, but adding sugar is a matter of life & death to me)
** I use a shot glass to indicate 1 part

Doe alles in een cocktailshaker samen met ijsblokjes, en schud heel goed. Zeef het in een vooraf gekoeld Martini-glas (ook leuk als je de glasrandjes suikert). Normaal gezien horen er geen ijsblokjes meer in  maar het mag natuurlijk wel. Werk het af met een partje limoen op de rand. Enjoy!

Put everything in the shaker together with ice cubes and shake very well. Serve in a pre-cooled Martini-glass (you can also sugarcoat the edges). Normally you don't put any ice in the cocktail, but of course you can if you want to. Finish with a part of lemon! Enjoy!
